Dutch Country Table Begins Demolition in Kalona to Make Way for New Restaurant and Coffee Shop
Kalona, Iowa — April 30, 2025 — A fresh chapter begins in Kalona as demolition officially starts on the former BP gas station and Hard Luck Café site off Hwy 1 to make way for the Dutch Country Table, a brand-new full-service restaurant and coffee shop slated to bring a modern twist to classic hospitality in the heart of Amish country.
Set to feature over 5,000 square feet of beautifully designed space, Dutch Country Table will seat more than 120 guests and offer a full kitchen and dining experience, serving up homestyle meals, specialty coffee and teas, and a welcoming atmosphere for families, locals, and travelers alike.
“We’re excited to bring something special to the community,” said Jonathan Wells, manager of operations for Dutch Country Table. “Kalona is rich in tradition, and we’re building a space where that heritage meets the convenience and connection of today’s lifestyle.”
